KIPRO is a public institution responsible for supporting the activities of KIPO and performs prior art searches, IPC assignments and prior trademark & design searches, etc. It was great pleasure to meet and learn more about recent trends and patent search related activities.
Students from Dankook University (DKU) visited Alexandria HQ and werewelcomed by Thomas Hong, Moo R. Jeong, Dae Y. Kim, and Taelor Kim.
This was a part of 2023 DKU New Emerging Industries IP US Training, led by Professor Byung-Nam Kim.
On May 7, 2023, KAIPO and Korean-American Intellectual Property Bar Association (KAIPBA) went out a golf outing together and competed to win the Korean-American Intellectual Property (KAIP) President Cup trophy at the Twin Lakes Golf Course.
KAIPO team was led by Captain Jaehwan Oh and supported by Golf Committee Chair Jae Lee. KAIPBA team was led by Captain Sungyup Chung and supported by Vice President Thomas Hong. Congratulation to the KAIPO team for winning the first KAIP President Cup.
On May 3, 2023, KAIPO kicked off the Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander (ANNHPI) heritage month in a fireside chat event with our special guest Yoon S. Ham, a name partner at Hauptman Ham, LLP, and a moderator Charles Kim. In this fireside chat, Mr. Ham shared his journey of how a foreign student overcame the obstacles to grow as a U.S. patent practitioner.
