New Examiner Campus Tour

On October 11^th, KAIPO Outreach committee provided a campus tour to new examiners (Jiyoung Oh, Jisun Choi, Theodore [Ted] Im, and John Lee) at the USPTO Alexandria HQ. After 2020 pandemic, new examiners have joined the USPTO virtually, and many new examiners, especially who resides in other states, had never visited the HQ. The group toured the Public Search Facility and the National Inventors Hall of Fame, and enjoyed unique opportunities to walk around the campus and chat with other examiners. Kudos to Taelor Kim for organizing the event!

On July 9^th, KAIPO hosted Professor Dr. Jaehong Park, along with several students, fellow professors, and staff from Korea University, Konkuk University, Kangwon National University, and Sungkyunkwan University at the USPTO Alexandria campus. The group toured the Public Search Facility and the National Inventors Hall of Fame, and learned more about the U.S. Patent System through a Q+A session hosted by KAIPO. Kudos to Jae Y. Lee for organizing the event!

President and associates of KIPRO (한국특허기술진흥원) visited Alexandria HQ and was welcomed by James Lee, Thomas Hong, Moo R. Jeong, and Taelor Kim.

MyeongSup KIM (fourth from left, President) and his associate are greeted by KAIPO officers, Rachel Pellegrino (third from left) and Jordan Landes (second left) from Office of International Patent Cooperation (OIPC). KIPRO is a public institution responsible for supporting the activities of KIPO and performs prior art searches, IPC assignments and prior trademark & design searches, etc. It was great pleasure to meet and learn more about recent trends and patent search related activities.
